Right no pkok does not seem to work because of the fact that
people can hide out and wait a mere 48 ticks and then reject
anyone they have killed/multied. Well, what about added a "NEW"
level of pkok.
Right now I type accept all, and I get an asterix next to my name
that other accept alls see. Well, what if I then entered another
command, something like 'accept all permanant', that would set me
to accept all permanantly. And, instead of an asterix next to my
name a pound sign or something could show up.
What would this buy us, you say? Well, I am hoping this would
allow all of us who liked the old system to enjoy some of its
benifits without forcing the whole mud to. You ask well why not
just always be accept all - well, once you 'have' this new level,
you can add reject options such as 'reject all non-permanant' etc,
allowing us to only be attacked by other permanant pks. You could
let yourself just be accept all, whatever - but this way if someone
comes and kills you, they are going to be forced to be accept all
forever (if you are configured that way).
Basically, its just more versatile IMO. What do you all think?

I think the solution is that everyone who wants it oldstyle,
accepts all and then rejects the people who abuse the system as
they come along and kill them once in a cheap shot. Of course,
then they wouldn't be accept all anymore, but that could be solved
by putting something like [oldstyle] in ones title.
But then again, what do I know, I'm blonde.

I don't see another level of accept all whether or not it's permanent
being too helpful. If the PKOK characters are a subset of the character
base and accept all is a smaller subset of PKOK, then it seems that the
characters willing to go even further into 'hard-core' pkill will be a
subset of the accept all group. One of the complaints now is that there
are too few players who are accept all. How will making another, even
smaller, group change that?

the problem, as i see it from reading thru all these posts, is that
players can go accept , kill/multi/whatnot you, then reject you
in 48 ticks. by making a permant version, with the ability to
reject everyone who is not permanant also you avoid this. you are
correct, this will be a smaller subset - but it will prevent the
people who abuse the system from doing it to the quote un-quote
i am also in favor of upping the reject timer to say 400 ticks

But couldn't that problem be solved by Tiki's suggestion. Once you know
someone is a jerk like that, let all your friends know, post on the
warboard, etc. They'll find they have nobody to play with soon.
Yeah, they may have an alt waiting in the wings, but if you guys can
get your communication flowing, that alt will be lucky to get in two
or three kills. Sooner or later they're gonna run out of alts, and
get the message 'if you want to play like that, tough'.
It looks so simple from the outside, am I missing something here?
