I was sitting there trying for-freakin-ever to phase into this chumps
house and it occured to me that it would be nice if the ticks to try
your door bypassin skill (phase break pick whatever) again were uh,
lowered some? Like a 100 mind person needs 2 ticks to try again, not
8 or 10 or 100, whatever it is now, same for str and break dex and pick
'cause houses really shouldn't be the end all last word to a fight
when someone runs to a house as is you might as well just rent and take
a nap...and if its gonna take 50 tries to get in it might as well not be
10 minutes a try...well whatever this only really affects pkill anyways
since it wouldnt matter if you picked the lock of someone who accepts
nobody...pft. Anyways not whining for your chances of success to go up
just yanno, i'd like to finish a fight while I am still under 30.
Oh and uh, lets say however many ticks it is now is what it would take
at 60 mind/str/dex and then it goes down for every 5 points or something

Why not whine for chances to go up. It makes sense. If you're
fiddling away at a lock with your picks, the more time you
spend at a door, the chance should increase that you will
pick it. The same should go for break door and phase door.
If you're slamming away at a door, the strength of the door
to withstand your assault, whether magical or physical
should decrease as you spend more time.
But I say |15increase the time it takes to pick,break,phase|U6
between failed attempts but each time you try, increase your
chance of success. People with natural bonuses for break, pick, phase
should have the highest chance of success. A limit should be
placed on how high sucess rate should be. A person with the
highest potential for a successful pick, phase, break would have
let's |U6say 40% but their first attempts would be somewhere
around the range of 10-20% rate of success. Then based off
of that, some formula could be developed to accomidate those
with medium or low potential for a successful pick, phase, break.
I think a person with a low talent for any of these should
never have more then a 20% chance.
This could only be for pkill enabled players.
Maybe the point of all this is to stop people from using
housing as a safe-room. The imms already enforce this by
having ticks stop counting down in housing, but why not
go further. It would mean a change in lifestyle for some
, keeping valuables would be very dangerous for pkill
enabled and with that, it might be abused by some
Something to think about.

fill chalice jug
yeah i think this should be changed, break door never works
even with 100 str, it never breaks doors. People that are that strong
should break through things like tanks.

Is the "never works" feeling coming from doors at full break resistence,
or are they actually unbreakable doors?
From: is just wondering

Well what is the klien gate? Cause my alts with 100 str
hardly ever break that door. 10 times and they still breaking

One would think that Klein's gate was just a SMALL amount larger
than your average door!

I'm sure it is, but breakdoor is the worst of the 3 ways of getting
through a locked door. It fails more often then not, and it is the
only one that costs hp and stuns you for a while. Not very fun. My
strength fighters tend to learn pick lock with 40 dex and just ignore
break door because its a waste of time.

Yeah, break door freakin' sucks. What also sucks, I say is that that 40
dex char seems to have the exact same chance of successfully picking a
lock as a 100/100 dex/perc sniper. Do dex/perc effect success rate on
this skill at all? Sneak succeeds -=SLIGHTLY=- more often for my sniper
chars than my 80dex fighter, and WAY more often than should happen, I
will fail 5 to 10 sneaks in a row as a SNIPER. Just wonderin if dex/perc
actually do something more than give you the option to learn the skill.
Err.. I know the sneak skill actually works better for high perc/dex,
but the success rate is fully rediculous. Jesus H tap dancing
Christ, 9 failures before a sucess for a char with dex/perc as prime stats?
? Kick is quite similar along those lines as well. Why does it miss so
much at 100 dex?
But back to the door thing. 10-20% chance to suceed for a skilled char?!
I don't know about formuals and stuff, but seems to me that's about the
same chance ya got right now. If the tic counter till you can attempt again
was lowered I wouldn't mind the chance to succeed bein' so crappy, or vice
versa. From inside should be MUCH easier to pick/break/phase out, too.
Which side of the door your on dosn't seem to affect it right now. And if
it does, whoever made it so sucked at it!

I'd prefer to see the time limits lowered rather than your chance
increasing after every try even tho that makes more sense, maybe they
can do both, lower the timer to start and it raises as your chances raise
so by the time your up to 40% or whatever the max would be, you are waiting
waiting the same amount of time as you are for one chance now...
but mainly, I don't feel like sitting outside some jerks house for
108 ticks anymore, it's just not fun. The way pk fights go these days
anyways I don't know if I could take the excitement of a 2 hour wait..
Anyways Idealy I would like to see a 100 dex 100 perc yanno, God among
thieves types, have like 80% to pick :P But I suppose that would be
way too much since its so easy to get 100's here. Maybe we could just
make a quest or config that gives you the HAS_ADD flag, and people with
that could walk throu walls, or reverse recall thier opponants...
