Inactive Imm Policy

LadyAce says, 'Any questions on the new inactive imm policy Zandy posted?'

Arrak says, 'Confusing as hell :p.'

LadyAce says, 'What are you confused about?'

'Well..' Arrak says.

'If you leave for your own reasons your archived?' Arrak says. 'And unimmed?'

Arrak says, 'Not like I have any imms, :p.'

'If you're not going to do any imm stuff ever again, I can't see why you'd mind,' LadyAce says.

Arrak says, 'Just delete a char?'

'Thats ruthless,' Arrak says.

LadyAce says, 'Not really, we put people back into being mortals if they want.'

'Oh,' Arrak says.

'Like Tad?' Arrak says.

'They're not totally deleted, we have backups of everything,' LadyAce says.

'I suppose like Tad, sure,' LadyAce says. 'I guess he didn't want to be an imm anymore.'

Arrak nods his agreement with you.

LadyAce says, 'If you don't want to be an imm and want to be a mort, that's ok.'

Arrak says, 'Well.'

'Hrm,' Arrak says.

'Say you were to be morted again..how would you like go back to the eq you had?' Arrak says to you.

Arrak says, 'Its in a file somewhere?'

'Yup,' LadyAce says.

Arrak nods solemnly.

LadyAce says, 'If you wanted it.'

LadyAce says, 'Ok, how about general questions?'

Variable Stat Eq

'The first one on the list of changes is by request of someone who came to Q & A last week, by the way,' LadyAce says.

'Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seems like a lot of the variable stat eq loads to the low end of the scale, bonus wise, instead of towards the middle,' Yvonne says. 'Is this intentional, or my bad luck, or something?'

Yvonne has gotten a lot of +1 and 2 stat items lately.

'I think it's luck, really -- I'll tell you a little on how the items work,' LadyAce says.

'Builders set a few basic things: percent, statname, low, and high,' LadyAce says.

LadyAce says, 'The percent determines how often the thing has a stat at all.'

LadyAce says, 'So it's actually randomized between low and high, when it's rolling for the stat.'

Yvonne says, 'Figured it might be more of a average curve sorta thing, but okie doke.'

LadyAce says, 'If items are loading low too often, you could comment on that to the area's builder.'

LadyAce says, 'They can set the variation to be 2 to 5 instead of 1 to 5, etc.'

Yvonne says, 'Who takes care of Tara now, Rufus?'

'What happens when two different imms will warn me for the same thing?' a proud man with a crown on his head says. 'Could i defend self somehow?'

LadyAce says, 'If you get two warnings for the same thing at once, one of them is likely to be removed.'

LadyAce says, 'If they don't remove it right away, you can speak with any admin, or the head of Admin.'

'The second one removes first?' a proud man with a crown on his head says.

'The admin can decide which one to remove, if they're different severities,' LadyAce says.

A proud man with a crown on his head nods solemnly.

Martial Arts

'Ok how about martial arts,' Straussy Milano says.

LadyAce says, 'It's not something being planned for now.'

LadyAce says, 'Maybe in the future.'

PKOK and Skill Trees Status

Ryan says, with a playful tone, 'What is in the works, anyways?'

LadyAce says, 'Right now, Ea is working on pkok, and Rufus is taking a break for a while due to RL/work busy-ness.'

'When Rufus comes back, I imagine he'll take up with trees again,' LadyAce says.

'How far is Ea!' a proud man with a crown on his head says. 'With pkok?'

LadyAce says, 'He said yesterday that he's got pretty much everything but steal.'

LadyAce says, 'Not sure how to deal with it yet, y'see.'

'Pkok is silly,' Magi Kunnar grumbles.

'Steal is a real, real pain,' Ea! says.

'Out of curiosity, what's the problem with steal?' Yvonne says. 'Or is it some kind of twisted code issue?'

'The general problem is this:' Ea! says.

'Take this situation: I steal a potato from you,' Ea! says. 'I put it in my house. Then LayAce comes along and tried to steal it.'

Ryan says, suddenly understanding, 'I'd tell Ladyace to get her own potato.'

Ea! says, 'The code needs to make sure that you can fight and/or are friends with LadyAce, that she can fight and/or is friends with the owner of the house it is in (me).'

A proud man with a crown on his head says, 'If both will be pkill enable and she will be able to open your doors, then she can steal it i think.'

Ea! says, 'Also, if it's in a container it gets even worse.'

'And if neither I nor Yvonne are online at the time it's even trickier,' Ea! says.

Yvonne says, 'Could steal just reset ownership?'

'The number of possible situations to deal with make it hard to get everything right and even harder to test,' Ea! says.

Melanie C says, full of energy and enthusiasm, 'And the lesson oov t'day is: "Don't steal."'

Ea! says, 'And given that it's not the most frequently used skill in the game, it could be years before we find all of the bugs.'

A proud man with a crown on his head chuckles politely at Melanie C's feeble witticism.

Yvonne says, 'Property is theft.'

LadyAce says, 'Unfortunately that may be the only way, Yvonne...which has the trouble of making steal rather lucrative.'

Ea! says, 'Plus, the code is a convoluted mess that's pretty stuck on the concept of pkenable.'

'I suppose making steal very difficult is the way to deal with that,' LadyAce says.

Ea! says to Yvonne, 'I'm glad that you suggested that, though, because I hadn't even thought of that -- and it would simplify it quite a bit.'

'Ooh, go me,' Yvonne says.

Ea! says, 'It's one of those "not being able to see the trees through the forest" type thing or something like that.'

'Hrm,' Yvonne says. 'Is there a NO_SELL flag?'

'Yes,' LadyAce says.

'By the way, is there a reason why lullaby only puts a mob ta sleep temporarily instead oov like the sleep spell?' Melanie C says, bouncing around excitedly.

'The length of the nap varies,' LadyAce says to Melanie C.

Ea! says, 'We'll probably be upping it a bit in the nearish futurue.'

'The difference is, they can't wake themselves up as easily with acts etc,' you say.

Quest Resets

Yvonne says, 'Okay, while I'm on a roll :p Is there any possible way the repop time on quest items/mobs can be decreased?'

'It's easy to decrease it, which ones are bothering you in particular?' LadyAce says.

'In particular, lotus, incense sticks, and the magician :),' Yvonne says.

Sandra says, 'I'll see what I can do.'

'Setting repops is just a guessing game anyway,' LadyAce says. 'You could try suggesting those via idea, unfortunately you picked some items which have builders who are't exactly active.'

Melanie C says, full of energy and enthusiasm, to you, ''ow d'ya use these?'

Melanie C ponders 19 dollars's existence.

Melanie C scuffles her feet around in the dirt.

'I joost wanna buy a ticket:P,' Melanie C says, full of energy and enthusiasm.

Melanie C picks up 19 dollars and shakes it vigorously.

'For the baseball game,' Melanie C says exuberantly. 'I'm explorin' there.'

'Some of the shopkeepers there are a bit hard to figure out at first,' Mugwump says.

Ea! says, 'At some point, we hope that shopkeepers will support currencies with list and buy and sell...'

Sandra says, 'Yea coz writing those acts is a pain =P.'

'Unfortunatly, the code for that is awful,' Ea! says. 'Probably the worst that I've written.'

'But 'ow do I give 'em 5 dollars without givin' them all the money?' Melanie C says, full of energy and enthusiasm.

Ea! says, 'So I stopped after doing bankers.'

'Look in dollars,' Sandra says to Melanie C.

'Do you have 5 ones or a 5 dollar bill?' Sandra says.

Melanie C says, bouncing around excitedly, 'Yep.'

Sandra says, 'Give 5 dollars .'

'Hmm, i didt know you could look in dollars,' Mugwump says.

Sandra says, 'Yea it tells you what you have, broken down into the different bills.'

'I wus lookin' in me dollars but couldn't think oov 'ow ta get 'em:P,' Melanie C says, bouncing around excitedly.

Melanie C puts a five dollar bill in a fancy scarlet leather backpack.

'I thought maybe the syntax with money was just screwy or something,' Mugwump says.

'Oh, I wus usin' the *,' Melanie C says exuberantly.

Sandra says, 'It's a little hard to getused to at first =).'

'Can we get some kind of "ATM" in houses?' the Obsidian Knight says firmly. 'So we dont have to run to the nearest inn to get money.'

'Find an era where an atm would fit in, and talk to the builder who built it? :),' LadyAce says.

'Pitts?' the Obsidian Knight says firmly.

'Heh, no,' Sandra says.

Mugwump says, 'A bit pre atm there still.'

Sandra says, 'That's the 1930's =P.'

The Obsidian Knight grumbles.

'But things like shared houses are on our list of things that would be good for an update to the housing code,' Ea! says.

Ea! says, 'Yeah, we haven't really planned out what it would entail other than player-owned shops...'

'Can dopples level currently?' Amadio Alvarado says.

'Dopples don't get xp, so, no,' Ea! says.

New Immorts?

'Btw, how many immortals are being accepted this new upcoming applying thingie? :),' the Obsidian Knight says firmly.

'Depends on the applications and the voting,' Ea! says.

LadyAce says, 'Takes a 2/3 vote of the imms to get you in.'

'Is that absolute, or does that include the weighting?' Amadio Alvarado says.

'2/3 of the voting imms need to vote for you,' Ea! says.

LadyAce says, 'Weighted.'

'As opposed to 2/3 of the entire imm staff,' Ea! says.

What's the mud coded in?

'What is the mud coded in? cause i have some good ideas as to what would help, but i failed C++ :),' the Obsidian Knight says, looking self-assured.

Ea! says, 'C.'

'Hehe maybe i shouldnt have dropped that course :),' the Obsidian Knight says, looking self-assured.

Recalling Charms

'How is that going to work with cause mages?' the Obsidian Knight says, looking self-assured. 'Their charmies get recalled to the place they were summoned?'

Ea! says, 'If you recall them they won't go to newbie hell.'
