As a promotion for the RP community, LegendMUD features a monthly 'Muse Award'. Each month, the top roleplayer in the community is awarded with a single-color coupon in addition to a write-up in the Legendary Times regarding their outstanding roleplay efforts.
Nominating can be done in game with the nominate command. The syntax is nominate (player) (explanation). You may nominate as many people as you like with explanations on why you believe this person to be an exemplary roleplayer. You may not nominate your own characters.
Once the nominations close, the top bunch will be posted on the web for voting. Only ONE vote will be allowed per person for this part. We will be monitoring this and throwing out extra votes if you vote more than once.
An excerpt from the roleplay helpfile:
Roleplay (or 'RP') is defined in many different ways by those who participate in it, and no one definition is necessarily correct for everyone. Generally speaking, roleplay is a style of gameplay which leads the player to treat their character as distinct from their real life persona, with an origin, personality, goals, flaws, and history all their own. As you develop your character's persona, the character may also meet other characters, and form relationships that grow into stories. This may sound a bit complex, but RP can also be a ton of fun. Bringing together a bit of acting, a bit of storytelling, and a bit of creativity, and your character can leap to life.
To vote, proceed to The Muse Voting Page. It uses a log-in system that you can access using your character name and password.
